I think popcorn is the one snack I could live off of forever. It’s light, crunchy, utterly satisfying and completely transformable. I happen to be all about that spice so that’s what I’ve loaded up this coconut oil popcorn with.
You’d be surprised just how far a little cayenne salt can go you know. It’s one of my favorite seasonings for anything really. Instead of just using plain salt to season chicken, fish, steak or anything else, I like the added bit of heat that the cayenne brings.

The fun part is you can even do this with other spices! You know all those fancy salts you see in the pricey stores? Skip all that noise and make your own. All you need is salt and *insert favorite spice here*. You can use chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder – well you get the point. Obviously stay away from cinnamon, cloves and those spices that lend themselves to less savory applications though.
Cinnamon salt just sounds like a horrible idea…

Anyway, back to this awesome snack. Next time you’re craving something to munch on, just whip up some stovetop popcorn to get your munchies fix. The best part is that stovetop-made popcorn takes just as long, if not even less time, than microwaving popcorn. Plus you know exactly what ingredients are going into your snack.
Then you can make the cayenne salt as spicy or as non-spicy as you like! I always love creating recipes that have a little wiggle-room to customize the flavor for yourself, you know?

The ratio here is pretty fiery, so lessen it a bit if you don’t love those spicy foods. If you do like spice, go with this ratio or you an even try it a little hotter (I triple dog dare you to…). It all about you and your taste preference here, people.
You can store this is an airtight container and munch on it all week. Keep some at work, some at home, or take some in the car for your upcoming summer road trip. You’ll be healthy, paleo-friendly and satisfied with your tongue on fire with every crunchy bite.
